I began my teaching career at Muscatine High School where I had the opportunity to teach AP classes and travel with students to the UN in New York City and to our nation's capital.  I also had the opportunity to be a fellow for a summer at the US House of Representatives.  I also taught at Iowa City West High School where I taught a variety of social studies classes and co-taught classes with special education teachers. My administrative career began at Washington Junior High in Washington, IA where I was the assistant principal.  I gained so much knowledge that transferred well to Iowa City, where I have been an administrator for ten years.  I have worked as an administrator at all levels - elementary, junior high, and high school.  I have been both the principal and the assistant principal.  These experiences give me a depth of knowledge that I can share with new administrators. I have presented at the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference and taught as an adjunct professor at Muscatine Community College.  I have been a guest speaker for several different classes at the University of Iowa.  Currently I am teaching in the RAPIL program and hope to expand my college teaching resume.
